“TURNING DEVASTATION INTO DREAMS”

Hello, my name is Suzanne Gindy owner and founder of Bella Home Staging.
I'd like to share a bitter, but sweet story with you.

I was 25 years old when I started my Home Staging Business. I've always set goals and made sure I worked very hard to get them accomplished. Ever since I was a little girl I've always had a passion in fashion and design. I use to move my friends and families furniture and accessories around all the time, but it was in 2007 when I discovered my talent and interest in the Real Estate Market. Below is the story that allowed me to start this new concept in NOLA.

On New Year's Eve in 2007, the home I grew up in and was living in with my parents caught on fire due to an electrical shortage and was virtually destroyed. In the days following, my Aunt passed away as well, and, just when I thought it was over, tragedy struck again when my father was robbed and murdered. It would have been easy for us to give up, but we persevered.  Knowing how hard my parents had worked to pay off the mortgage on our house and the meaning the house had for my family, we hired a contractor to rebuild the house. $30,000 later, the job still wasn't completed, and the contractor had walked off the job.

That's when it hit me. Seeing my childhood home in its raw, bare-bones structure, my brother and I decided we could finish the job where the contractor left off to create a new home for my family. With a lot of hard work and determination, we succeeded in rebuilding what our parents had built for us. I was in charge of all the interior, furniture and cosmetic choices, and I had to learn this from scratch. At the end of the project, sitting in the living room alone in this rebuilt, redecorated house, I couldn't help but start to cry, especially when I saw a picture of my father. The house was just perfect because it represented our family, and everything matched beautifully.

I took the lessons I learned redecorating my childhood home and began to learn all I could about making this a career. I read a lot about home design and real estate. I began to invest in the real estate market myself, which led me to realize that for someone to buy a home, they have to be interested in the home, and you don't have much time before they make their choices. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to decorate a home to help the buyer see how it could look. With that, Bella Home Staging was born.
